Barriers to direct marketing

Barriers for True Direct

In my opinion there are three main barriers to True Direct and the success of the Direct Marketing industry. The first is the distinct lack of belief and confidence. In the past there has been a lack of belief and confidence from the industry and the outside of what Direct Marketing can deliver and often the glory gets attributed to other medias. The second is people. People within the Direct Marketing industry want to be effective â€" they want to deliver something that makes a difference to their client's business. However, what they lack is the need / desire to be famous, stand up and be proud of their work and the believe that they should be paid handsomely for work which has dramatically improved a business. The third reason is finding the right tools. We have very bright people working in the DM industry who have very specific areas of specialism. We need to align these people so that they can create the tools that we can all use throughout the industry.
