Graham Dodd is the Managing Dirctor of The Letterbox Consultancy, a privately owned company, formed at the end of 1995. Following a long career in the door-to-door distribution industry, working at several of the UK's largest distribution companies, for a wide range of blue chip clients, Graham spotted a niche in the marketplace.

Until then, clients were only served by "media owners" that bound by their companies' in-house portfolio of services, were restricted in the options which they could present to clients, to help achieve marketing objectives. Operating as a totally independent and impartial planning and buying service dedicated solely to door-drops, The Letterbox Consultancy provided a new service for clients to access.

To this day, the service is still unique in its approach to a complex medium.

The company philosophy is to respond to any client brief, by identifying each of the door-drop options available, the charges attributable to each option, the strengths and weaknesses of each option, along with a recommendation of how best to proceed.

This will include all new targeting and distribution developments the industry is able to offer. Our lateral thinking often provides clients with opportunities they previously did not know existed.

On receipt of a formal brief, The Letterbox Consultancy will provide a first stage, speculative proposal for all enquiries.

The company has grown year on year since its formation, with much of its growth attributable to repeat and increased client activity, client referrals and client loyalty, when contacts move from one company or organisation to another.

Since its formation, the company has won a series of industry awards for a number of clients' activity, where innovation and planning skills were highly commended.

For the last seven years, Graham Dodd has been a member of the Direct Marketing Association's Door-to-Door Council and Chairman of the Events and Education Committee. In August 2003, Graham was made a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing, a member of whose panel of speakers he is, whilst also being a regular speaker at industry conferences and seminars.

The Letterbox Consultancy is a small company providing a high standard of personal account handling skills from start to finish on every project. Size is not however an issue in handling actual business and in 2000, we handled a 22 million item drop on behalf of British Airways, the largest drop in the UK since the millennium, apart from central government activity.
